City Council and representatives of the commercial sectors have shared their concerns, in a meeting that will be held monthly. The meetings will be held with the aim of gathering the demands of the sector, and at the same time there will be a joint follow-up of the municipal actions promoted to help minimize this practice.

The Councilor for Economic Promotion, Guillem Escolà, explained that "it is necessary to share positions and focus collective efforts on undertaking socio-labor actions that offer a real integration of the people who work in the blanket". Guillem Escolà assures that “the deterrent police presence will be maintained” and at the same time points out that “the City Council is working on alternatives that are within its competence and that allow this practice to be minimized, at the same time people and a response is given to the claims of the commercial sector ”.

The City Council has designed an Action Plan, in which several municipal departments have participated, which includes, in addition to the constitution of the monitoring table with the commercial sector, other actions to be implemented in a constant, coordinated and repeated manner from the field local.

Among the actions that will be carried out is the campaign to encourage local trade, with a special emphasis on local, responsible and guaranteed consumption. New special police devices have also been planned. But the Plan to tackle unauthorized street vending goes beyond conventional actions, and advocates a comprehensive treatment of the phenomenon, with the participation of all actors and stakeholders. The socio-labor actions of the Plan, which include proposals aimed at improving the social care of people in a vulnerable situation who carry out this practice, to look for ways of occupational inclusion and solutions that guarantee the basic rights of people.

The municipal action also includes awareness-raising actions with this phenomenon, aimed at citizens and the economic sectors, to bring the reality of unauthorized street vending and understand which are the ways that would encourage the abandonment of this practice among people who perform it.
